The mission of Foundum is to create a one-stop-platform providing entrepreneurs with structured resources, services and contacts, in order to foster the local and global entrepreneurial ecosystem. We work to fulfill this mission by helping you and all the other entrepreneurial stakeholders meet, exchange ideas, learn from each other and find opportunities to help you grow your startups.
Being part of Foundum means sharing information about you and your Organisation with other professionals and communicating with them. By default, your account is set up to share your entrepreneurial information. The amount and type of information you decide to share, and with whom you share it, is up to you.
Here are the two main types of information on Foundum:
a) Information about yourself and/or your Organisation that you share. This is the information that your connections and other members see about you. Organisation Profiles are open to all users whereas People Profiles are only visible to registered Members.
b) Communication and private activity. We help you communicate with other Members. Some of this is one-to-one and some of it is public discussion. You decide how much or how little you wish to communicate to other Members or in discussions. Members have the opportunity to like, recommend and review other Members. These actions will be visible to all Members. Moreover, we provide tools that you can use privately on Foundum. For example, you can make use of a private email in order to contact a particular Member. You may also refer a particular Member/Organisation to someone else. These actions and information are private and we don't share or distribute them to others on the website.

Each time the User accesses the Foundum Websites, Foundum automatically receives the URL of the site from which the User came and of the site to which the User is going when leaving the Foundum Websites. Foundum also receives the Internet protocol (IP) address of the User’s computer (or the proxy server the User uses to access the World Wide Web), the computer operating system and type of web browser in use, as well as the name of the User’s ISP. This data is saved in a log file and will be stored by Foundum in the standardized combined log file format unless the User objects to the processing of such data and notifies Foundum accordingly by sending a fax or letter to Foundum. The information is used in anonymous form to analyze overall trends to help Foundum improve its service. The linkage between the User’s IP address and the personal identifiable information is never shared with any third party without the User’s permission except when required by law. Foundum reserves the right to review the log files from the last known IP address of the User where Foundum has reasonable cause to believe that the User is using Foundum Services in breach of contractual agreements or the applicable legislation. In doing this, Foundum protects other users, the safety of its user’s data, as well as Foundum Websites and the Foundum Services.
We offer search services to help find information and learn more about other Members (for example, you can search for People with particular expertise or consulting experience, or that you may know from your industry or profession). Foundum search also allows Members to find persons such as entrepreneurs, private investors and advisors. In addition, Users can search for Organisations such as startups, knowledge institutions, government agencies, entrepreneurial associations, service and funding providers.
It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information, profile information and/or information about your activities as a Foundum User when required by subpoena or other legal process, or if Foundum has a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to (a) investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (b) to enforce the User Agreement, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third party claims or allegations, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property or personal safety of Foundum, our Users, employees, or others.
In order to help secure your personal information, access to your data on Foundum is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and the Foundum website. To protect any data you store on our servers, Foundum also regularly audits its system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.
